Privacy Policy

This policy explains how information is handled when you visit Bodyparts.net, operated by Softend.

1. Who is responsible

Softend operates Bodyparts.net. For privacy questions or requests relating to information processed through this website, contact contact@bodyparts.net. Please identify the relevant page, approximate visit date and nature of your request. Do not include medical records or other sensitive information unless specifically necessary.

2. Information associated with your visit

You can read the anatomy articles and use the 3D atlas without creating an account. The atlas does not ask you to upload medical information or create a personal health profile. Model selection, camera movement and organ selection are used to operate the interface.

When your browser requests pages, models or scripts, the receiving server can receive technical information such as your IP address, request time, requested URL and browser headers. Hosting and service providers may process this information for delivery, maintenance, security and troubleshooting.

3. Website analytics

The website includes Aught Analytics, supplied from aught.net. The configured script records page-view and engagement events and uses a visitor identifier named aught_vid. The inspected script stores this identifier in a first-party cookie and browser local storage. It sends the website domain, page address, visitor identifier and, when available, referring page information to the analytics collection endpoint.

Analytics helps us understand visits and use of the website. Technical connection information may also be available to the analytics server. We do not describe this service as anonymous or cookie-free. Provider behavior may change; see our Cookies Policy for the storage details observed when this policy was prepared.

4. Advertising and Google

The site includes Google AdSense code. Google and advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure advertisements, limit repeated ads and detect fraud. Ad personalization depends on applicable settings, consent and service configuration.

Google explains its practices in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and its Privacy Policy. Google may process information such as IP addresses, browser information and interactions with advertising.

5. Purposes, sharing and processing locations

Information associated with visits is used to provide the site, understand usage, support advertising and protect services from misuse. Relevant information is received by the hosting provider, analytics provider and advertising services involved in those functions. Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law.

Providers may process information outside your country. Their locations, safeguards and processing arrangements depend on the provider and service configuration. Contact us for questions about a specific processing activity.

6. Retention

The observed Aught visitor cookie is assigned a maximum age of 395 days and can be refreshed on later visits. Its local-storage counterpart has no automatic browser expiry. You can remove these through browser site-data controls. Server-side analytics, advertising and hosting retention is separate from browser storage; contact us for information about a particular record or deletion request.

7. Your choices and rights

You can block or delete cookies and site storage through your browser. Google also offers advertising controls through My Ad Center. Blocking third-party requests may affect advertising or measurement. Deleting browser storage does not automatically delete information already received by a provider.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent where it is the basis for processing, or complain to a supervisory authority. Send requests to contact@bodyparts.net. We may need sufficient information to locate relevant records and verify a request.

8. Younger visitors

This is a general educational anatomy website used by people of different ages. It does not offer child accounts or ask visitors to submit health information. Parents or guardians who believe information about a child requires attention can contact Softend at the address above.

9. Changes and related information

We may update this policy when the website or its providers change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Read the Cookies Policy for more detail about cookies and similar storage.
